Hi, I’m Trai Murphy,

and I’m a Corrective Exercise Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer, and the owner of FitTechniques Personal Training.

I discovered my passion for teaching fitness at the age of 11 when I was invited to coach as a peer coach at my gymnastics facility. This opportunity ignited my love for teaching health and fitness as I transitioned from athlete to “Coach Trai.” I quickly found joy in helping others excel in their sports and health through various coaching roles while also competing in multiple sports throughout my youth.

As an athlete, I often found myself in athletic training rooms due to injuries. These experiences allowed me to assist other athletes with their programming and learn from athletic trainers. My fascination with anatomy and physiology grew, and I continued volunteering in physical therapy clinics and athletic training rooms throughout college, eventually moving into managerial and patient care roles within physical therapy clinics. This invaluable experience helped me understand clients’ needs in the adaptive fitness continuum.

Through coaching and training, I realized my desire to help others rediscover their health after life setbacks. However, I noticed a gap in support post-therapy and injury treatment, where most people need extra accountability to maintain their progress. This realization led to the creation of FitTechniques, LLC., designed to provide that extra push outside clinical walls.

Many people become inactive due to life’s demands, injuries, kids, work, etc., when fitness is most crucial for living comfortably and strongly. I developed an approach that makes it SIMPLE to get moving again, even if it’s been decades since your last workout.

My philosophy is that after life throws a curveball, it’s okay to start slowly and build gradually. You’re not expected to be the same every day, and that’s okay! The goal is not to fight your circumstances but to embrace them so you can enjoy some of the best years of your life.
